Akiko tanase Nakajima 中島明子
Nakajima tanase Akiko is the founder of a + L.
Akiko, who studied art and education at Hokkaido University of Education, joined the architect Mitsuhiko Sato（http://www.msaa.jp/）
in 1999 and was responsible for his main projects until 2011. After she lived in Paris for three years, she set up Architects Office in Tokyo. She values the teamwork on building architecture and is paying attention to promoting the project together with clients and constructors.

Mio Watanabe
Registered landscape architect with RLA
Part-time Lecturer at Kyoto University of Art & Design.
Mio Watanabe is the Founder of a+L and CEO of Mio Watanabe Design Office. Educated in both architecture and landscape architecture, Mio brings attention to design creativity, detailing and construction implementation. Her work is mainly contemporary design across a variety of project types and scales. Prior to starting the own office, she worked for Nihon Sekkei, Inc. She has also worked for Skidmore Owings and Merrill in New York as an Architectural professional. and for SWA group in Los Angeles. Mio holds Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees from University of Pennsylvania School of Design, and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kogakuin University with Riken Yamamoto Lab in Japan.
